The Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society - James Dent Walker Chapter-DC is committed to encouraging everyone to learning, teaching, discussing, researching, writing and exchanging views related to genealogy, family history, and the African American experience.  We generally meet monthly for spirited and engaging programs to showcase member research and local histories.  

Any person or organization interested in and supportive of the purpose and mission of AAHGS-DC is welcome to join.

Membership is open to all persons and organizations without regard to race or ethnic background.
