NMAAHC Helps Families Explore Their History and Genealogy

Writer: Adrienne FikesAdrienne Fikes

NMAAHC Robert Frederick Smith Explore Your Family History Center helps people begin their family history journey and learn the basics of researching African American genealogy.

As an NMAAHC Ambassador, I was honored to share my family research and my experience as a AAHGS DC member during this online program - Our Families, Our Communities, Our Histories: Capturing the Enduring Spirit of Life. This program explores the Museum’s work to help families uncover their genealogies, digitize heirlooms, and share stories that make each family unique.

I hope you enjoy this entire program. My interview begins at the 38 minute mark.

Request a virtual genealogy session with the NMAAHC Family History Center staff by emailing familyhistorycenter@si.edu
